ABOUT COLIN EDMONDS
At 16, Colin began his writing career by selling jokes to comedians Bob Monkhouse and Don Maclean, quickly gaining his first TV credit with a sketch on BBC2’s ‘Dave Allen at Large’.
By 18, he wrote for ‘Bless This House’ and ‘Love Thy Neighbour’, becoming Britain’s youngest TV writer. Transitioning from a journalism career at IPC Magazines and editing children’s comics, Colin devoted himself to comedy writing, notably as Bob Monkhouse’s principal writer for four decades. In 2015, he produced the ‘Bob Monkhouse: The Million Joke Man’ documentary series. Colin also ventured into novels, releasing his debut ‘Steam, Smoke & Mirrors’ in 2015, followed by sequels in 2017, 2019, and a novella in 2021, blending steampunk with comedy-thriller elements.
